Consecutive Week Lessons Registration/Policies

The Summit Learning Center will fill each program on a first-come, first-served basis. If a program has reached full student capacity, registration for that program will be closed. Students wishing to register for a closed program will be placed on a waiting list. Additional students will be placed into the program from the waiting list as space becomes available. (Refunds will be made in full for students unable to register in a closed program.)

Program registration deadline for winter programs, with the exception of Sessions 2 & 3 of Fun Four is November 15, 2008. The deadline for Sessions 2 & 3 of Fun Four is one week prior to the start date of the selected program. Sign up early as space is limited, many programs reach capacity prior to the November 15 registration deadline!

Download and Complete a Registration Form (PDF file - Requires Adobe Acrobat Viewer)

A non-refundable $25 administrative fee will be charged to all registrations accepted after the deadline dates. We cannot guarantee placement for any programs.

Prices are for lessons only.  Obtaining equipment rentals and lift tickets are additional costs.  You can't take the lesson if you can't slide down the hill or get to the top, right!?!

If I register for lessons, can I get a discount on a Big S Pass for lift access?

Students successfully registered in consecutive week lesson programs before December 1, 2008 are eligible for student discounted season pass pricing.

All Prices subject to change without notice.

POSTPONEMENTS & MAKEUP DAYS

Does The Summit Learning Center ever postpone lessons due to weather or road closures?

The make-up day will occur the week following the last scheduled day of the program.

What happens if I can't make it to the scheduled make-up lesson?

If a student chooses not to participate in a scheduled make-up lesson, there will be no additional make-up days provided.

Are lesson programs transferable?

Lesson programs are non-transferable between persons or time periods.

ABSENCES

What happens if I am absent from my lesson due to my own accord?

Absence means forfeiting that lesson day.

Pro-rated credits issued as a Lesson Product Snowcheck (that expire at the end of the winter season - April 2009) will be made if any part of the program is canceled by The Summit Learning Center due to lack of participation or if a student must withdraw due to a transfer from the area or a physician verified illness or injury.

How do I get a my Snowcheck for my lessons?

24 HR PROGRAM HOTLINE:

How do I figure out if my lesson program is canceled due to severe weather conditions?

425-434-6789  Call this number prior to driving up to The Summit for last minute updates!

How do I know my student has been registered?

We expect to process confirmation letters by email by the first week of October. We will include purchase information for a Discounted Big S Season with your confirmation email.

A student successfully registered into a Summit Learning Center (S.L.C.) program will receive a confirmation letter in the mail. Use this confirmation to verify your student's personal information, as well as his or her skiing/riding ability and program placement. Each confirmation letter provides detailed information regarding program dates, times and meeting locations; S.L.C. contact information for last minute weather, road and program updates!

How are classes assigned?

Students are assigned to classes according to their ability level and age. A student's assigned class number may be found each week on a posted list in the program's meeting area. This class number corresponds with a numbered class sign where the student will meet their instructor at the start of each lesson. Students may change classes! Any changes to the weekly class assignments will be on the posted lists. Please check each student's class assignment prior to meeting the instructor each week.

Sign up to be in the same class with a friend of the same discipline, age and ability level by filling out the “Please put me in the same class with” section of the registration form. Every effort will be made to accommodate reasonable requests.

Is my student in the correct class?

All students progress based upon their own abilities. It may be necessary to change classes during the program as a student's ski, snowboard or telemark performance level changes. We will try to minimize transfers. You can help us by trying not to miss any classes during the program duration. If we feel it is necessary to move your student to another class, we will make every effort to do so smoothly.

Please call our Summit Learning Center administrative office if your student's level has changed prior to the first day of lessons. All prices are subject to change.
